Regarding the TW GameStop Video
The part that pisses me off the most despite his entitled and agressive (borderline violent) attitude was how people are treating the woman in the video. This woman, who was with her son, calmly and softly said “Excuse me, sir, there’s a young man in here — you need to watch your mouth.” This transwoman was yelling at the GameStop employee (who hadn’t misgendered him) because he wanted cash instead of store credit. Anyone who ever worked in retail knows that there are guidelines revolving around returns, and we know you can’t pay with card and get cash back in most cases. You also can’t just “get cash” when you return an item past the deadline, without a receipt, without an ID (in some cases), or if the item is damaged and past it’s warranty (see the card for cash issue above if the item is within it’s warranty).
Anyways, then the transwoman points aggressively at the calm woman and screams “Excuse me — it is ma'am! It is ma'am!”.
The woman then APOLOGIZES in her same calm and soft voice before saying “I can call the police if you’d like me to. You need to settle down.” Reminder she has a child with her.
He then gets even more aggressive and tells her to settle down and then rages at everyone again. I’ve seen people call the woman in the video (the woman with her child not the transgender identified man) a c*nt, a b*tch, and other demeaning things. I’ve seen people say SHE was out of line. Show me one mother who wouldn’t try to difuse an aggressive male in a tight quarter situation while her child is near her. His voice is male, his face is male, his aggression is male. Her recognizing that isn’t her fault - humans form pattern recognition for a reason. She even apologized for misgendering him immediately after but she was out of line? Your misogyny is showing.
As for the GameStop employee - we all know employees are required to say “ma'am” and “sir”. Again, his voice was male, his rage was male, his face was male - the GameStop employee is visibly nervous and even stammers a few times. The sir he said was accidental. Yet this transgendered identified male acted as if he was the victim in this whole thing. Despite screaming and cursing at an employee (which is shitty for ANYONE to do) he throws a temper tantrum over what? An accidental sir that he caused for being an aggressive male?
If this video was of an actual woman or a non-identified male (“cis”) everyone would say how rude and crazy this person was, not defending them. I’m sick of transpeople (specifically transwomen) hiding behind woke politics and gender identity to get a pass for the shitty things they do. Like no wonder they ID as trans, it automatically makes them exempt from every bad thing they do and the consequences there of. He even knows it when he says “I’m going to tell the whole LGBTQ community. You will loose money over this.” He wasn’t discriminated against, he wasn’t assaulted, he wasn’t asked to leave until he started throwing a temper tantrum and cursing out everyone. The worse crime anyone committed in that GameStop was using the wrong pronoun. It’s not violent. It’s not aggressive. It was an accident.
I hope the GameStop employee doesn’t loose his source of income over this agressive male and I hope the mother and her son are okay.
he was also physically intimidating, kicking over the box of store wares the way he did, it was an implicit threat
