the kweers finally came for sex ed

for the record

ā€œTrans boys and men and non-binary people may have periodsā€ is a true statement, and depends entirely on the op-status and specific hormone regimen the trans men and nonbinary people in question may or may not have.

Sex Ed that isn’t inclusive of everyone isn’t helpful to everyone.

Only females can menstrate because only females have uteruses.

Trans boys, men, and some nonbinaries are female even if they don’t ā€œfeelā€ like it

So you agree,Ā  ā€œTrans boys and men and non-binary people may have periods.ā€ Cool.Ā Ā

So for those who actually don’t know, I don’t know your biology background, but you have so many parameters that could be used to define whatever you want to call ā€œsexā€, like there’s that one gene on the gametes, theres your chromosomes, there’s like one or twelve hormone receptors, there’s the outer aspect of your genitals, there’s the inner aspect of your genitals…. And aaaallll of these show SO MANY variations, like all things in biology.

Why is it so hard to understand that hair colour can range from blond to black with everything in between but not to be a le tout envision the same kind of variation for every organ.

actually biological sex exists in the two distinct categories of male and female with very little variation, and the variation that does exist is due to the existence of intersex disorders i.e. very rare chromosomal abnormalities that do not disprove the sex binary because people with those disorders are still male or female

if biological sex was not a binary and was as fluid and variable as you say it is, we would see a wide and fascinating array of genital configurations and reproductive capacities, we’d see a statistically significant proportion of people able to produce both sperm and ova and the labels ā€œmaleā€ and ā€œfemaleā€ would indeed be meaningless because our sexual biology would be to unpredictable and scattered to categorize

as it stands, there is almost a complete correlation between primary/secondary sex characteristics and chromosome constitution.

every single human being that has ever existed was either male or female, there’s no third option, there’s no ā€œnon-binaryā€ sex, there’s no variation, it is a binary and im afraid the science just doesn’t care about your politics
